Many things changed suddenly 5,200 years ago at about the same time as the famous "ice man" was suddenly frozen in glacial ice. Ice cores and ancient DNA recovered in Peru may shed light on just what kind of world-wide climate change might have inspired nomadic hunters to settle down to agriculture and city building.
