I know I've been terrible about keeping up with the blog but here's the last few months in short. I've changed jobs and am now working with a company that does software for the travel industry. I've moved to Fort Worth and live next to the airport because, if anything, I'm traveling even more now.
On the book, I've seen the first royalty statement (for that first month or so), and it looks like my publisher won't be sending heavies after me with blunt instruments to get their money back. Woohoo! On the other hand, I will not be buying anything extravagant with the additional royalties, such as toothpicks or lint.
I've sent off some short fiction and am working on a longer fiction piece that may be a novel before it's done.
And... after many years of trying, my wife and I are divorcing. We've been separated since around March, and have been trying to put the pieces together for several years now as our friends will know. Fortunately, it's vey amicable and should be final any day now depending on how fast we can get my attorney's assistant to type up her dictation.
She and our daughter will still be living in Amarillo, but in a new house. We are selling the old one and should close next week.
Things are still too complex and changing too fast for me to make much sense of things right now, so I may not be blogging a great deal for a bit longer.
